A Card Sketchbook

Hello everyone! Life is a bit hectic at this moment. Been busy with HW and unwinding from family camping trip, that went well. But I'll try to post more often. Today I'm sharing a sketchbook that I made. I got the idea from Kristina from kwernerdesign, I will put up her link to her blog. I loved the idea of making a sketchbook for cards, and also you can download for free the interior pages as a PDF file. How cool is that. Thank you Kristina. I used Ivory paper as my cover and I distressed it using Tim Holtz ink. I used a stamp set from CTMH for the swirls, that are in brown. The tag is also from a CTMH set, and I stamped that using distress ink and cut it out. I added prima flowers and in the center they have pearl bling. I used pop dots to make it 3-d. And lastly I attached a very small piece of ribbon using glue dots. I wrote in the tag "Celina's Sketchbook", but I'm not satisfied with it. I think I need to redo it. I recommend that everyone make a sketchbook, especially if you lose your "mojo" from time to time, like me. Or if you give away your cards and are trying to remember what it look like. You can always refer to your sketchbook and look for it. It is very helpful if you are new to the card making. I hope you guys like it.

Another Birthday card!!

Hola a todos (hello to everyone),

Today is my little cousins birthday and she is a pre-teen. So I made her this card using the new Indian Summer collection from DCWV. I used one of my favorite papers from that collection. Its a really nice collection to have for this Autumn, because it has tons of purples, turquoise's and pumpkin orange in the collection; I really like it. I will be making tons of cards with this collection, especially Halloween cards or projects. I also used prima flowers in orange and I rubbed some distress ink on the flowers to try and make them less vibrant, but I don't think I was that successful. I stamped my cousins name on the pumpkin orange paper and stamped the "Sweet birthday wishes" on it too and distressed it using Tim Holtz. I also distressed the outside of the pumpkin orange card. I used purple rhinestone brads for the center of the flowers. Well I hope you guys like the card today. It's off in the mail now but it won't get there on time, since my cousin lives in LA county.

A New Birthday Card

Hi guys,

I have a birthday card to share with you guys. I made this card for my friend Luz's birthday party but I forgot to take it, so I will drop it off at her house this Friday since her birthday is not till Saturday. I used my Silhoutte machine to cut out the swirls. I used my Martha Steward circle cutter for the brown circle. I also used Prima flowers in yellow and teal, I made them look old by using Tim Holtz Distress ink. (I'm soooo in love with these distress inks. I recently picked up some new colors that I will use soon.) The "Luze" are chipboard letters that were actually in different colors, and I used versa mark with bronze embossing powder them all the same color. I used a nail file to rub some of the bronze tone off and I think it looks good. I rubbed distress ink on the card to make it look aged, too. The only think I do not like is the "happy birthday" part. I did not have a big happy birthday stamp so I had to hand write it in and I do not like it. What do you guys think of it? Be honest, no hurt feelings. Hope you guys like today's card.

Corner bookmarker

I made this corner book marker for my fiance. He is such a bookworm by choice, where I am by obligation... Anyhow, I found how to do this bookmark on this website, check it out. It has directions on how to do this bookmark and other really cool projects www.pinkpersimmon.com/tutorial_bookmark.html . My attempt was to make this book marker using more manly tones. I have a hard time making manly looking things. I'm so use to using flowers in what I create. I used Kraft paper and bone color paper. As well as Tim Holtz distress ink to make it look aged. I stamped the bone color paper using a world stamp. I also stamped Bon Voyage using versamark and then sprinkled Bronze embossing power and melted it using a heating tool. Well I hope everyone likes it. You should try to work with elements that are hard for you, this will help you get better at them. I hope to share a girly looking corner book marker soon. Hope all is well....
